Federal Parliament Secretariat Directs Newly Elected MPs to Submit Asset Declarations by Jestha 10

Kathmandu. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has directed the members elected in the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21 to submit their asset details by Jestha 10. Secretariat Spokesperson Joint Secretary Ekram Giri informed that the directive has been issued to register the asset details in the MP Facilities Management Branch within the office hours on the upcoming Jestha 10.

According to Section 50 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, and Section 31 A (1) of the Prevention of Abuse of Authority Act, 2048, individuals holding public office are required to submit an updated declaration of the source and details of assets held in their name or their family's name to the designated body within 60 days of assuming office.

Spokesperson Giri informed that the newly elected members took the oath of office and secrecy on Chaitra 12. Since 60 days from that date falls on Jestha 10, the directive has been issued to submit the asset details by that time.
