Hearing Concludes on Request to Extend Custody for Former PM Oli and Ex-Home Minister Lekhak

Kathmandu. The arguments have concluded on the petition to extend the remand for investigation of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. The hearing regarding the extension of custody for Oli and Lekhak took place in the bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Anand Prasad Shrestha.

Following the conclusion of arguments from the legal counsels of both sides, the bench will issue a decision on whether to extend the remand or not. An order is expected shortly regarding this matter.

The police had requested a 10-day extension from the court. Ram Hari Kafle, the chief of the District Government Attorney's Office, Kathmandu, stated that both individuals were presented to the court seeking a 10-day extension.

During the hearing, Oli was presented to the court via video conference from Teaching Hospital.
