Protests Erupt Across Sudurpashchim Province Against Arrest of CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli

Dhangadhi. Protests continued across various districts of the Sudurpashchim Province on Sunday against the arrest of CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli. UML cadres staged demonstrations with loud sloganeering in districts including Kailali and Kanchanpur as per the party's pre-scheduled program.

UML cadres demonstrated in front of the District Administration Office today demanding the immediate release of Chairman Oli. There was a brief scuffle between the demonstrators and the police in Dhangadhi, Kailali, and Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur.

During the protests, cadres chanted strong slogans against the government, alleging that the Chairman was arrested based on political vendetta.

The CPN-UML Sudurpashchim Province Committee stated that the process of submitting memorandums to the government through all District Administration Offices in Sudurpashchim, as per the party's pre-scheduled program, is ongoing. 

The memorandum warned that the movement would be further intensified if Chairman Oli is not released unconditionally. 

Security has been tightened in the main cities of Sudurpashchim, and the protest demonstrations by UML cadres are continuing.
