Kathmandu Administration Halts Demolition of Former PM Deuba's Building Amid Investigation

Kathmandu. The local administration has halted the demolition of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's building in Budhanilkantha. Efforts were underway to construct a new structure after demolishing the house that was set on fire during a recent protest. However, a police official from the Kathmandu District Police Range informed Ratopati that the demolition has been stopped under the directive of the Kathmandu District Administration Office.

The police have stopped the demolition and removed the workers present there. Dollars and Nepali Rupees were found in burnt condition at the site following the arson attack by protestors on Bhadra 24. The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had collected and secured that amount at that time. High-ranking government officials state that an investigation into money laundering has been initiated against Deuba and his wife, Arzoo Rana.
