Weather Forecast Indicates Moderate Rainfall and Snowfall Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that a westerly low-pressure system along with the partial influence of local winds is currently affecting Nepal. Due to this effect, most parts of the Sudurpaschim Province and the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are generally cloudy.

This afternoon, the mountainous regions of the country will be mostly cloudy, the hilly regions generally cloudy, and the Terai regions partly cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorms in many places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, in some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces, and in a few places in the Terai regions. Snowfall is also expected.

Tonight, the mountainous regions of the country will be mostly cloudy, while the hilly regions of Koshi and Madhesh provinces and other parts of the country will be generally cloudy, and the Terai regions will be partly cloudy.

The department has indicated a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorms, along with snowfall, in some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two places in the Terai regions.
