CPN-UML Boycotts Sudurpashchim Cabinet Meeting; Chief Minister Appoints Hospital Chairs

Dhangadhi. The ruling coalition partner CPN-UML has boycotted the Sudurpashchim Province Cabinet meeting.

In the absence of UML ministers, the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah appointed new Management Committee Chairs for five hospitals in the province.

The meeting, attended only by two ministers from the Nepali Congress and the Chief Minister, decided to make political appointments for the vacant Provincial and District Hospitals.

According to the cabinet decision, Ram Bahadur Bhandari of Tikapur Municipality-1 has been appointed as the Management Committee Chair of Tikapur Provincial Hospital. Similarly, Toran Prasad Awasthi of Mahakali Municipality-5 has been entrusted with the leadership of District Hospital Darchula.

Dhan Bahadur Chhetri, a resident of Dasharathchand Municipality-3, has been selected as the Chair of the Baitadi District Hospital, while Dhan Bahadur Rawat of Khaptad Chhededaha Rural Municipality-5 will take charge of the Bajura District Hospital. Furthermore, Birendra Bahadur Khadka of Jhayaprithvi Municipality-3 has been appointed as the Chair of the Bajhang District Hospital Management Committee.

Except for Bajhang, all the appointed hospital chairs in today's appointments are close to the Nepali Congress. Despite the UML boycotting the meeting due to internal discord within the ruling alliance, Chief Minister Shah proceeded with the appointment process.
