Rastriya Swatantra Party Central Committee Meeting Commences; Balen Shah Attends

Kathmandu. The Central Committee meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has begun. The meeting started at the party's central office in Banasthali.

Senior leader Balen Shah is also participating in today's meeting. He had not attended the previous secretariat and central committee meetings.

Although the agenda for the meeting includes the parliamentary party leader issue and miscellaneous matters, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti informed that amending the bylaws is not necessary for selecting the parliamentary party leader. Burlakoti asserted that the existing bylaws do not hinder making senior leader Balen Shah the party leader as per the constitution.

‘The decision to make the senior leader the parliamentary party leader was already made by the Central Committee meeting held on Poush 13. This meeting does not need to make further decisions on that matter. The parliamentary party meeting, which will convene immediately after the Central Committee meeting, will select Balen as the party leader,’ he told Ratopati.
