Newly Elected MP Harka Sampang Vows to Hold Government Accountable from Opposition Bench

Kathmandu. The Chairman of the Labor Culture Party and newly elected Member of Parliament, Harka Sampang, has made it clear that he will remain in the opposition and continuously question and pressure the government. He stated that criticizing the government's mistakes is, in fact, a way of supporting the government.

Speaking with journalists after arriving at Singha Durbar for the oath-taking ceremony, Sampang claimed that criticism and opposition from the opposition bench help the government determine the right path, which ultimately benefits the country. 

He said, 'We will question the government while in opposition, and we will support it. The opposition also supports the work that the government needs to do. We learn from criticism, and we also learn from opposition. It determines where I am going. Therefore, we are in favor of supporting the government and this country.'

He argued that aspiring to reach the highest position in politics should not be considered inappropriate. 'I am also saying that one should be allowed to say that. A person involved in politics should aim to reach the highest position. This should not be considered inappropriate,' he said.
