Iran Warns of 'Devastating' Response to Any Attempt to Seize Islands Amid Escalating US Tensions

Tehran. Military tension between Iran and the United States has taken a new and dangerous turn. Reports of a massive deployment of US forces in the Gulf region and the potential occupation of Iranian islands have caused clouds of a more severe war to gather over West Asia.

Senior Iranian officials have claimed that their enemies are planning to seize Iranian islands with the support of a regional country, warning that such an attempt would result in continuous and ruthless attacks on that country's 'critical infrastructure'.

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, issued a stern warning via social media, stating that the Iranian military is closely monitoring every move by the enemy. He made it clear that any regional power assisting a military campaign against Iran would face a terrible price.

According to analysts, Ghalibaf's indication is specifically aimed at the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which Iran suspects might assist the US in capturing the strategically important Kharg Island.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre warned Iran to accept defeat from Washington. While President Donald Trump claims negotiations are underway with Iran, Jean-Pierre's statement signals a military confrontation. She noted that President Trump is not making any 'bluff' or empty threats, stating that if Iran fails to understand the reality, it will face the largest military strike it has ever encountered.

The Pentagon has begun sending thousands of airborne troops and naval forces to the Gulf region. Approximately 2,000 soldiers from the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division and massive warships are en route to the area. While the US claims to have put forward a 15-point peace plan on one hand, it is intensifying its military encirclement on the other. Iran, however, flatly denies any ongoing negotiations and has put forward its five conditions.

According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, if Iranian land or islands are attacked, Iran may open a new front at Bab al-Mandab, the gateway to the Red Sea. Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen are also reportedly ready to take control of the waterway to punish the enemy.

Tehran has warned that if US forces land on Kharg Island, which is near the Iranian mainland, it would be suicidal for them.
