CPN-UML Leader Gokul Baskota Criticizes Commission Report on 'Janjati' Movement Incidents

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Gokul Baskota has commented that the report of the Janjati Movement Investigation Commission seeks to push the destructive incidents of Bhadra 24 into oblivion.

Regarding the report prepared under the leadership of Gauribahadur Karki, formed to investigate the Janjati movement that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24, Baskota stated that while the characters and tendencies questioned by history will stand in the dock to answer, that answer cannot be one-sided.

‘The characters and tendencies questioned by history will certainly stand in the dock to answer. But that cannot be one-sided. And even if there are independent causes for the incidents, when they appear, they are not alone,’ Baskota wrote on social media on Thursday. ‘Not only the cause, result, and effect, but the other side is also present together. Although the Karki Commission tries to push the 24th into oblivion, it is not possible.’
