One Dead, One Injured in Road Accident on East-West Highway in Dhanusha

Dhanusha. One person died and another was injured in a vehicle accident today on the East-West Highway at Maltol, Dhanushadham Municipality-6, Dhanusha.

According to the Area Police Office, Dhalkebar, a motorcycle with registration number Madhesh Pradesh 02-004 P 1895 heading east from Dhalkebar was hit by a Mahindra pickup carrying fish with registration number Madhesh Pradesh 02-001 Ch 1647.

Police Inspector Laxman KC informed that 55-year-old Samim Khan, a resident of Kuchaithol, Shrestheshwarnath Municipality-6, died in the accident. Khan was pronounced dead by doctors at Provincial Hospital Janakpur after being rushed there for treatment immediately following the collision.

Fifty-year-old Binod Singh of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-4 was injured in the accident. He is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital. Police stated that Dinesh Sahani, a resident of Sukhipur-3, Siraha, the driver of the involved pickup, has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
