Commission Recommends Action Against 8 Senior Officers in 'Genji Movement' Probe

Kathmandu. The commission formed to investigate the 'Genji Movement' led by Gauribahadur Karki has recommended action against 8 officers from the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force. Although the report was submitted to the government, it was kept confidential, and it has been found that the commission recommended action against 8 officers: 5 from the Nepal Police and 3 from the Armed Police Force.

The report, partially made public by Janastha, recommended action against Nepal Police Additional Inspector General Siddhibikram Shah, Deputy Inspector General Om Bahadur Rana, Deputy Inspector General Bishwa Adhikari, Senior Superintendent Deepshamsher Jabara, and Superintendent Rishiram Kandel.

Similarly, the commission recommended action against Armed Police Force Additional Inspector General Narayandatta Paudel, another Deputy Inspector General Suresh Kumar Shrestha, and Superintendent Jivan KC from the Armed Police Force. The commission noted that circumstances warranting action against them according to the law have arisen.
