Western Disturbance Influences Weather Across Nepal, Light Rain and Snow Possible in Hilly and Himalayan Regions

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology stated that Nepal is currently under the partial influence of the westerly wind along with local air masses. Due to this influence, generally cloudy conditions prevail in the Koshi Province and the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country. 

This afternoon, generally cloudy skies will cover the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces. Partial cloud cover will be observed in the remaining hilly and Himalayan areas, while the Terai region will remain mainly clear. 

There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and snowfall in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces, and in one or two locations in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the remaining provinces. 

Tonight, generally cloudy skies will prevail over the Sudurpashchim Province and the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country. The Department has indicated a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in one or two locations in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.
