Curfew Lifted in Nepal's Kapilvastu District After Clashes

Butwal. The prohibitory order enforced in Kapilvastu since last Saturday has been lifted. The District Administration Office, Kapilvastu, issued a notice stating that the curfew has been completely removed from 9 AM today.

With the lifting of the curfew, life in the district is gradually returning to normal. According to locals, shops have started opening in the market, and the movement of people has also increased.

The curfew was imposed in various parts of the district starting from Chaitra 7, in view of the clash between two groups in Maharajganj Municipality-2, Baradwa.

According to the administration, the curfew was lifted based on the decision of the District Security Committee as the law and order situation is improving and it is deemed necessary to facilitate the daily lives of citizens. It has been stated that the movement of the general public and daily activities in the district will now resume as before.

During the incident, police opened fire to bring the situation under control after clashes occurred between Hindu and Muslim communities on Chaitra 7. Four local residents were injured in the process, and some police personnel were also injured.
