Teenager Arrested in Connection with Murder of 60-Year-Old Woman in Rupandehi

Bhairahawa. The Area Police Office has arrested a 15-year-old teenager on charges of murdering 60-year-old Renu Patwa of Sisichok, Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality-1.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Nishant Srivastava of the Area Police Office, Butwal, Patwa was murdered by being stabbed with scissors while she was sleeping in her own shop on the night of Chaitra 2. The arrested teenager, accused of involvement in the incident, is a neighbor of the deceased. The teenager reportedly confessed that he entered the shop with the intention of theft due to a lack of money to buy drugs, and the murder occurred during a dispute.

According to the police, the teenager indiscriminately stabbed the deceased in the head, face, and neck with scissors during the incident that took place in the middle of the night. The police apprehended the teenager, who had been absconding after the incident, last Saturday. Police stated that further investigation into the homicide case is underway after obtaining an extension from the District Court, Rupandehi.
