One Killed in Chitwan After Tanker Hits Scooter

Chitwan. One person died today in Nipani, Ratnanagar Municipality-9, after a tanker collided with a scooter. The deceased has been identified as Meena Regmi, approximately 35 years old, from Bharatpur Metropolitan City-7.

According to Police Inspector Deepak Rijal of the District Police Office, the tanker, traveling from Khairahani towards Bharatpur, struck scooter number Na 55 Pa 077 as it exited an internal road. Regmi, who was riding pillion on the scooter, died in the collision.

The tanker also hit a parked motorcycle with registration numbers Na 65 Pa 7883 and Na 55 Pa 8083, as well as a bicycle. Scooter driver Purna Sapkota, also from Bharatpur Metropolitan City-7, sustained minor injuries, informed Police Inspector Rijal. Police have taken Sujan Tamang, 24, from Rapti Municipality-7, into custody.
