Inmate Injured in Brawl Inside Kanchanpur District Jail

Dhangadhi. One inmate was injured following an internal dispute among inmates inside the Kanchanpur District Jail. Ganesh Bista of Bedkot Municipality-9 was injured after being struck with a piece of wood during an internal conflict within the jail.

According to Hem Bahadur Shahi, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and spokesperson for the District Police Office Kanchanpur, Bista, who was detained awaiting trial in a drug case, was attacked by another inmate, Bhuwan Air.

Police stated that Air, who was detained in connection with a drug-related case, attacked Bista, who was housed in Block 'A' of the jail, with a piece of wood from Block 'B'.

Bista, injured from the assault, is currently receiving treatment at Mahakali Provincial Hospital. Hospital sources indicated that his condition is now stable and out of danger. Police are further investigating the cause of this clash inside the jail.
