Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal's Weather Forecast

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology has stated that a western low-pressure system along with the influence of local winds is currently affecting Nepal. Due to this influence, there is generally cloudy weather in the Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as in the remaining hilly and Himalayan regions, while the remaining Terai regions are experiencing partial cloud cover. 

This afternoon, there will be general cloud cover in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, and partial cloud cover in the Terai regions. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, and in one or two places in the Terai regions of Koshi and Lumbini provinces, along with snowfall. 

Tonight, the Himalayan regions of the country will generally be cloudy, and the remaining hilly regions will have partial cloud cover. The weather in the remaining Terai regions will remain mostly clear. 

The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi Province and Gandaki Province.
