MRI Service Officially Launched at Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal

Butwal. MRI service has been formally launched at Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal.

Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chetanarayan Acharya inaugurated the service on Friday, coinciding with the hospital's 116th anniversary.

With the operation of the MRI machine, installed with financial support from the provincial government, service seekers in this region will now receive specialized services at a cheaper and more accessible rate. Previously, patients were compelled to travel to Kathmandu or Gorakhpur in neighboring India for MRI scans, a necessity that has now ended.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Acharya informed that plans are underway to develop the Provincial Hospital into a Health Sciences Academy.

At the event, Health Minister Khag Bahadur Saru mentioned that Lumbini Provincial Hospital is the pride of the province and expressed commitment to making service delivery more effective and technology-friendly. Deputy Mayor of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, Sabitra Aryal, and Health Secretary Durgalakshmi Shrestha, among others, extended best wishes for the all-round development of the hospital.

The hospital's Medical Superintendent, Dr. Indra Dhakal, shed light on the institution's progress report and future plans. On the same occasion, the hospital honored retired employees and awarded the 'Long Service Medal' to employees who completed 25 years of service.
