Nepali Congress Leader Arjun Narsingh KC Stakes Claim for Parliamentary Party Leader Position

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC is set to stake his claim for the position of the party's leader in the House of Representatives.

KC, who became a Member of Parliament through the proportional representation system in the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, stated that he will be claiming the leadership of the parliamentary party.

Speaking to journalists while heading to the Central Working Committee meeting that began on Friday at the party's central office in Sanepa, KC announced his candidacy for the party leader position.

KC also stated that his claim for the party leader position is natural. 'I automatically have a claim for the parliamentary party leader. I am the most senior leader there,' KC told journalists, 'I have made a very significant contribution to the parliamentary practice and journey. If any of you look at the history, I am among those who have sustained the entire Congress presence in parliament since 2047 BS.'

He added that his desire is for the party leader to be selected through consensus.
