Minister Sinha Stresses Growing Relevance of Buddha's Teachings Amid Global Challenges

Butwal. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Anil Kumar Sinha stated that the importance of Gautam Buddha's teachings is increasing further in the current global context. Speaking on Friday morning at a Buddhist meditation program organized by the Chinese Embassy in Lumbini, Minister Sinha noted that amidst the challenges of growing confrontational mindsets, intolerance, and psychological divisions in the world, the relevance of Buddha's teachings has become even deeper.

He mentioned that Gautam Buddha's sermons show humanity the path of compassion, tolerance, and understanding, expressing the view that Lumbini is not just a historical heritage but a sacred symbol of humanity for world peace.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Maoming mentioned the deep cultural ties between Nepal and China. Discussing the Chinese belief that prioritizes peace and respects differences, he stated that compassion based on Buddhist philosophy is an effective means to face current global challenges.

Similarly, Dr. Lharkyal Lama (Khenpo Chhime Tshering), Vice Chairman of the Lumbini Development Trust, stated that they are ready to welcome peace-loving people from all over the world to visit Lumbini. He mentioned that Buddha's teachings are not limited to one religion or community but are for the welfare of all living beings.

He urged everyone to visit Lumbini at least once in their lifetime.
