Nepali Congress Vice President Sharma Opposes Gagan Thapa's Resignation

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has made his stance public regarding the resignation tendered by party President Gagan Thapa. Sharma, sharing his views on the social media platform X on Thursday, stood against the resignation.

Following Gagan Thapa's resignation from his post this morning, Vice President Sharma stated that while Thapa's offer to take moral responsibility is positive, the current primary moral obligation is the responsibility to manage the situation.

He mentioned that an initial review, the resignation letter, and a proposal to reject the resignation would be presented at the meeting.

He stated that it would not be just to blame the person who went to extinguish a wildfire for the fire itself. In the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, the Congress secured victory in only 38 seats.
