Indian National Arrested in Morang for Posting Obscene Content on Social Media

Morang. Morang Police have arrested an Indian national for misusing social media to publish obscene photos and videos. Raj Kumar Jaiswal, 24, from Motihari district in India, was arrested on allegations of creating fake Instagram accounts to post indecent material and engaging in verbal abuse via WhatsApp.

A team from the District Police Office, Morang, apprehended him in Birgunj in coordination with Parsa Police following a detailed investigation. Police intensified their search after a complaint was filed alleging that the arrested Jaiswal transmitted obscene material on social media intended to defame the victim's character.

The police team arrested him on Falgun 30 from the bus park area in Birgunj Metropolitan City-15, Parsa. He was found hiding in Birgunj and has been brought to Morang for further legal action.

According to DSP Lilraj Lamichhane, Information Officer at the District Police Office Morang, a case has been registered against Jaiswal under the Electronic Offenses (Cyber Crime) Act. Police stated that further investigation is underway while he is kept in custody after obtaining an extension from the Morang District Court.
