Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal's Weather Forecast

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that a western low-pressure system and the influence of local winds are currently affecting Nepal. Generally cloudy conditions prevail in the Himalayan regions of the country, with partial cloud cover in the hilly areas and Terai of Koshi Province, while the rest of the regions remain mostly clear.

This afternoon, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and partially cloudy in the remaining parts of the country.

There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms and hailstorms in some places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, and one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as the Terai of Sudurpaschim Province.

Tonight, it will be generally cloudy in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces, while the remaining Terai regions will have partial cloud cover.

The department has indicated a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms and hailstorms, and snowfall in some places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, and one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Bagmati and Koshi provinces.
