Tarkeshwor Municipality Hosts Inaugural Horse Parade Festival

Kathmandu. The 'First Tarkeshwor Horse Parade Festival' was celebrated for the first time in Tarkeshwor Municipality, Kathmandu. Organized by Tarkeshwor Municipality in collaboration with Everest Horse Riding and Buggy Pvt. Ltd., the Horse Parade Festival was celebrated for the first time today at Pipaldanda Tusaltol in Tarkeshwor Municipality-8 on the occasion of the Ghode Jatra festival.

At the inauguration of the festival, Tarkeshwor Mayor Krishnahari Maharjan stated that the local level organized the Horse Parade Festival for the first time with the objective of preserving and promoting religion, culture, tradition, and local history.

He mentioned that among the 753 local levels across the country, Tarkeshwor organized the Horse Parade Festival for the first time on the occasion of Ghode Jatra. The festival was organized under the main theme of 'Identity, Ownership, and Rights: The Basis of Sustainable Development.'

The festival saw the participation of chiefs and deputy chiefs of various local levels in the Kathmandu Valley, representatives of political parties, and city residents.

Tarkeshwor organized the Horse Parade Festival at the local level for the first time to further expand the Ghode Jatra celebrated in Tundikhel. The Horse Parade Festival featured horse marches, horse jumps, and cultural programs.
