India Bans Controversial Song from Kannada Film 'KD: The Devil' After Parliamentary Discussion

Mumbai. India has banned a controversial song. The song 'Sarke Chunar Teri' from the Kannada film 'KD: The Devil' has been banned.

This song was also discussed in the Parliament on Wednesday. After parliamentarians raised questions, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the house that the song has been banned.

Minister Vaishnaw stated that the Censor Board has also been directed to take action regarding this song. Amidst the controversy, the song has been removed from YouTube.

The song faced widespread protest alleging it contained obscene lyrics. Amidst the protests, the government has banned the song. Minister Vaishnaw clarified that although freedom of expression is mentioned in the constitution, it should not mean absolute freedom but must be in the context of society and culture.
