Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal's Weather Forecast

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology has stated that a western low-pressure system and the influence of local winds are currently affecting Nepal. Due to this influence, most areas in the mountainous and hilly regions of Karnali Province, as well as Gandaki and Sudurpaschim Provinces, are generally cloudy. Partial cloud cover is observed in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Lumbini provinces, along with Bagmati Province. The weather remains mostly clear in the remaining areas. 

This afternoon, mountainous regions across the country will generally be cloudy, while the remaining hilly and Terai regions will experience partial cloudiness. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in one or two locations in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. 

Tonight, most areas in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki Province, are expected to be generally cloudy. Partial cloud cover is likely in the Terai region of Gandaki Province and the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Koshi provinces. 

The Department has indicated a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim Province, and light rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in one or two locations in the mountainous regions of Koshi Province, as well as the mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
