Chinese National Arrested in Kathmandu's Thamel with NPR 1 Million in Undeclared Cash

Kathmandu. Police have arrested a Chinese national in Thamel, Kathmandu, along with NPR 1 million in cash of undisclosed origin.

The arrested individual is 53-year-old Chinese national Tan Jiang. SSP Santosh Khadka of the Valley Crime Investigation Office told Ratopati that he was arrested on suspicion of engaging in cross-border money transfer (Hawala transactions).

Jiang, a resident of Wuhan, China, was arrested on Sunday. SSP Khadka informed that the NPR 1 million cash recovered from him has been sent to the District Police Range Kathmandu for further investigation and action.
