Nigerian Woman Breaks 18-Year Record by Counting Aloud to 1,070,000 Over 70 Days

Nigeria. Guinness World Records registers unique and difficult records from time to time, and the recent achievement by Nigeria's Favor Ogechi Aniko is gaining much attention. She astonished everyone by locking herself in her home for 70 days and counting loudly up to 1,070,000.

This counting series, which began on October 8, 2025, continued until December 16. While counting numbers aloud may sound simple, doing so continuously for 14 hours a day for 70 days is a matter of significant mental and physical strain.

With the aim of breaking the old record of 1 million set 18 years ago, she embarked on this difficult journey. She not only counted but also established a new benchmark by counting 70,000 more numbers than the previous record.

Sharing her experience, Favor stated that although the journey was very difficult, her intense desire to count is what brought her this far. She had set a goal to complete this task at any cost, where retreating was not an option.

She also live-streamed her daily counting task on YouTube, which helped verify her claim. A team supported her throughout this challenging journey, constantly encouraging her.

She recounted that she became very emotional upon uttering the final number on the 70th day, and that moment was a mixture of relief and joy. She stated that the inner desire to do something new and extraordinary in life inspired her to set this unique world record.
