Grand Religious Ceremony Scheduled in Kathmandu to Promote World Peace and National Welfare

Kathmandu. A ten-day Shreemad Devi Bhagwat and Mahārudra Virat Mahayagya (Great Fire Ritual) is set to be organized at Vindhya Complex in Satungal, Kathmandu. The Mahayagya is being organized by the Vindhyavasini Spiritual Association with the stated aim of promoting world peace, national welfare, and resolving various problems facing human society. The grand ritual is scheduled to take place from Chaitra 5 to Chaitra 14, 2082 BS.

Organizers stated that the Mahayagya is being held with the objective of pacifying the turmoil of physical, divine, and spiritual heat currently prevailing in the world through the medium of Vedic Sanatana Dharma.

The main attractions of the Mahayagya will be the recitation (Parayan) and discourse (Katha Pravachan) of the Shreemad Devi Bhagwat Purana. Additionally, a massive Mahārudra ritual of 1331 repetitions will be performed. To quell potential political unrest, famine, earthquakes, excessive rainfall, drought, and incurable diseases in the country, nine lakh recitations and a Havan (fire offering) of the Navarna Mantra will be conducted.

Programs such as the ritualistic recitation and Havan of the Shri Sukta one thousand times to eradicate poverty and promote good health, Navagraha Puja, and the melodious chanting of the Vedas and Gayatri Mantra have also been included in the Mahayagya.

Collected Funds to be Used for Temple Construction

This Peeth (seat), established in 2041 BS by Jagadacharya Nepali Baba, has previously completed numerous large religious ceremonies and pilgrimages in various parts of the country. Following the demise of Jagadacharya, the organization is currently being run under the leadership of his son, Ramchandra Sharma.

According to the organizers, the funds pledged by devotees during this Mahayagya will be utilized for the construction of a Shri Yantramay temple dedicated to the mother goddess Vindhyavasini at the same location.
