Five Individuals from Surkhet Missing After Hunting Trip in Bardia National Park

Five individuals from Surkhet have gone missing after going on a hunting trip in Bardia National Park.

Those missing include 25-year-old Resham Samseli, 41-year-old Ravilal Damai, 34-year-old Rambahadur Gharti, 30-year-old Sunil Samseli, all from Barahatal Rural Municipality-1, Jyamire, and 45-year-old Durgabahadur Sijali, who is a resident of Gangate, Lekbeshi Municipality-8 but currently residing in Bardia.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohanjung Budhathapa of the District Police Office Surkhet, Aase Mahatara from Barahatal Rural Municipality-2 informed the police about the incident around 5 PM on Sunday. He stated that his brother-in-law, 33-year-old Topbahadur Khatri, along with others, went hunting on Falgun 23 but have not returned yet.

According to Mahatara, they went hunting in Bardia National Park, located about 17 kilometers south of the village, on Falgun 23. 'Sunil Samseli's mother has informed the Ranighat Police Post only this Monday morning through Aase Mahatara that Topbahadur Khatri has died,' said Deputy Superintendent of Police Budhathapa. However, he added that this information has not been confirmed yet.

The Surkhet police stated that a four-member police team led by Police Inspector Topendra Singh Thakuri has been deployed for the search operation, and the Bardia District Police Office has also been informed.
