Western Low-Pressure System Affects Nepal, Bringing Rain and Thunderstorms

Kathmandu. Currently, Nepal is under the influence of a western low-pressure system.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with the remaining provinces, are generally cloudy, while the rest of the areas are partly cloudy. Moderate rain with thunderstorms is occurring in a few places in the hilly regions of Sudurpashchim Province, as well as Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

On Monday, the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with the remaining hilly and mountainous areas, will generally be cloudy, while the rest of the regions will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunderstorms in some places in the mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and in a few places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces.

There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms and hailstorms in a few places in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, and in one or two places in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in one or two places in the Terai region.
