Major Road Section in Gulmi to Close for a Month for Upgrading Works

Gulmi. The Rudrabeni-Wamitaksar road in Gulmi is set to be closed for the entire month of Chaitra. The District Administration Office announced that the road section, which falls under the national highway, will be completely closed from Chaitra 1 to Chaitra 30 to facilitate road upgrading works at Sisne Bhir in Satyawati Rural Municipality.

According to the letter from the Road Division Office, Palpa, the decision to close the road was made keeping in mind the increased risk of falling rocks and potential accidents during road cutting operations at Sisne Bhir, a highly sensitive and narrow section of the highway, informed Assistant Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Gaire.

The administration has urged vehicle operators to use alternative routes for transportation and movement while the road upgrading is in progress. The office requested the use of alternative roads such as Sota-Tallo Road-Rupakot-Dokua-Salghari-Chorkate and Majuwa-Damka-Rupakot-Myalpokhari-Chorkate.

The office has also written to Musikot Municipality and Chandrakot Rural Municipality to provide necessary support and facilitation for this work. The administration issued a public notice stating that the road will be closed 24 hours a day for one month.

The Road Division Office had previously conducted partial closures for 20 days from Magh 26 to Falgun 15 for road upgrading. This road, which sees the highest volume of traffic in the district, is a main route connecting Wamitaksar in Gulmi to Burtibang in Baglung via the Mid-Hill Highway.
