CPN-UML Leader Vasudev Ghimire Criticizes Party Leadership Over Election Defeat, Compares Style to Panchayat Era

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Vasudev Ghimire has strongly criticized the party leadership regarding the defeat of the entire party and its candidates. He compared the style of the party leadership to the Panchas (village elders) of the Panchayat era. 'The Panchayat was collapsing, but the Panchas kept repeating the same thing—Everything is fine, Your Majesty,' Ghimire wrote on social media on Thursday.

Ghimire from Rupandehi, who had announced his departure from UML before the February 21 elections, was stopped by leaders including Vice Chairman Bishnu Paudel. Ghimire, who was also a candidate from Rupandehi-3, was defeated by Dr. Lekhjang Thapa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
