Federico Valverde may not always grab the headlines for Real Madrid, but there is no doubt that he is a versatile and reliable player for the team. On Wednesday night, however, he was in the spotlight, and deservedly so.

This is not the first time he has delivered an outstanding performance in big matches. Just last Friday, in the La Liga match against Celta Vigo, he scored in the 94th minute when the game was tied 1-1, keeping the team's hopes of winning the title alive.

He has started 37 out of the 39 matches he has played this season. Coach Álvaro Arbeloa is highly impressed with his ability to play in both defense and midfield.
