Federal Employees' Hospital Services Extended to Dang's Rapti Academy of Health Sciences

Treatment services available at the Federal Civil Servants Hospital in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, can now also be availed from the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences in Dang. An agreement regarding service expansion was signed between the two institutions on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by Executive Director of the Federal Civil Servants Hospital, Prof. Dr. Mohan Chandra Regmi, and the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, Prof. Shyam Lamsal.

Under the agreement, currently serving civil servants and their dependents can receive the treatment facilities available at the Federal Civil Servants Hospital from the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences as well. For dependents, which include parents, spouse, or husband/wife, and up to two children under 21 years of age (a maximum of six people), a discount of up to 40 percent on treatment services has been arranged.

Similarly, retired civil servants will receive a 50 percent discount on all types of services. However, it has been stated that this facility will not apply to OPD services, ambulance, and medicines.

For availing treatment facilities, the employee's details must be registered in the Department of Civil Service (Kitabkhana). The hospital will authenticate employee details by connecting via software to the Kitabkhana's optical fiber network. If details are not registered, a recommendation from the head of the concerned office will be required.

The Rapti Academy of Health Sciences has indicated preparations to start this service from Baisakh 1, 2083 BS. According to Acting Vice-Chancellor Lamsal, Rapti is the first institution among health science academies to take such an initiative for civil servants.

Executive Director of the Federal Civil Servants Hospital, Regmi, stated that this collaboration is part of a plan to expand services to all seven provinces of the country. The agreement also mentions collaboration between the two institutions in the areas of manpower training and health research alongside treatment services.

Recently, the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences has been intensifying the expansion of its academic programs and specialized hospital services.
