Chitwan Authorities Halt Vehicle Tax Collection Outside Main Bus Park to Streamline Traffic in Bharatpur

Chitwan. A decision has been made to stop collecting vehicle taxes outside the main market area of Bharatpur Metropolitan City to streamline traffic management.

The District Transport Management Committee meeting held today has mandated that the vehicle tax collected by Bharatpur Metropolitan City will now only be collected from the Central Bus Terminal (Paras Bus Park) and Narayanghat Bus Park (Pokhara Bus Park).

According to Assistant Chief District Officer Chiranjibi Sharma, the meeting directed transport entrepreneurs to park their vehicles and pay revenue according to regulations to resolve the problems seen in the district's transport management.

Sharma stated that the meeting also clarified that ticket counters of various transport business organizations within the Bharatpur Metropolitan area must be relocated to the respective bus parks within 48 hours, and ticket sales must not occur anywhere other than the bus parks.

He informed that disorganized parking on the main roads within the Narayanghat market area must cease immediately, and activities involving unnecessary parking at petrol pumps in market areas like Pulchowk to board passengers are prohibited.

A previous meeting had made decisions regarding the management of long and short-distance vehicle operations, route management for cargo vehicles, noise pollution control, parking, ticket counter management, and road infrastructure improvement to organize transport within Bharatpur Metropolis.

Assistant Chief District Officer Chiranjibi Sharma informed that all concerned parties have been directed to strictly implement those decisions.
