Weather Forecast Indicates Partial Cloudiness and Chance of Rain/Snowfall Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology Forecasting has stated that Nepal is currently under the partial influence of a Western disturbance, a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, and a low-pressure trough near the eastern part of Nepal in the lower atmosphere.

Due to this influence, hilly and mountainous regions across the country are generally experiencing cloud cover. Haze is also present in some areas of the Terai and the Kathmandu Valley.

This afternoon, there will be general cloud cover in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with other hilly regions. Haze will persist in a few places in the Terai and the Valley. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in a few locations in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two places in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, there will be general cloud cover in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The remaining areas will have partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
