Fire Damages Dental OPD at Rajbiraj Hospital in Saptari

A fire broke out on Monday in the building housing the Outpatient Department (OPD) services of the Dental branch at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj, Saptari. It is reported that property worth lakhs of rupees was damaged in the fire that engulfed the Dental OPD service and the 'record' room here.

According to Dr. Dipali Jha of the Dental Department, the fire started suddenly due to an electrical short circuit in the dental equipment's compressor while a patient was being treated at the hospital. She informed that the fire then gradually spread to other dental equipment present there.

According to the hospital, Medical Superintendent Awadhesh Kumar Mishra informed that three dental units, two compressors, two desks, three dental chairs, one refrigerator, and seven fans were completely destroyed in the fire. He stated that the total damage, including other equipment, exceeded approximately NPR 25 lakhs.

Additionally, documents serving as OPD records were burned and destroyed. The fire was extinguished by police personnel from the District Police Office, Armed Police Force, Nepali Army, locals, and the fire brigade dispatched from Rajbiraj. The hospital stated that there were no human casualties in this incident.

Meanwhile, Ramji Yadav, who was elected as a Member of Parliament from Saptari Constituency No. 2 for the Rastriya Swatantra Party just yesterday, visited the hospital to inquire about the details of the damage caused by the fire.
