Vote Counting Continues for House of Representatives Election Results

Kathmandu. Vote counting is ongoing for the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21. Counting is proceeding for both the first-past-the-post and the proportional representation (PR) systems.

According to the vote count for the PR system as of 2:30 PM on Sunday (Falgun 24), the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured 1,903,164 votes. The Nepali Congress, in second place, has garnered 648,549 votes. CPN-UML has received 544,843 votes. The Election Commission stated that the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) in fourth place has secured 258,948 votes.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is in fifth place with 139,122 votes. The Shram Sanskriti Party, in sixth place, has obtained 83,125 votes.

The Rastriya Parivartan Party is in seventh place with 42,490 votes. The Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal, in eighth place, has received 41,439 votes. Janmat Party has secured 20,828 votes. 

The Nepal Workers and Peasants Party has received 17,826 votes. Following them, the parties with single symbols are: Chakia (Grinding Stone) with 17,571, Rastriya Janamorcha with 13,276, Rashtra Nirman Dal Nepal with 12,180, Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) with 11,798, Nepal Janata Sanrakshan Party with 9,298, Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party with 6,439, and Mongol National Organisation with 6,387 votes. According to the Commission, 3,834,434 votes have been counted so far under the PR system.
