Progressive Democratic Party Announces Major Review and Restructuring Following Election Results

Kathmandu. Concluding that the results of the elections held on Thursday have fundamentally changed the direction of Nepali politics, the Progressive Democratic Party (PrLoPa) has announced a serious review and overall restructuring of the party.

The party, which carries the slogan 'Alternative with Advanced Ideology,' has directed all its leaders and cadres not to take any new political steps individually without participating in the upcoming review and restructuring process.

Party Chairman Santosh Pariyar issued a press release on Sunday, informing about the restructuring along with an analysis of the current political situation. The press release congratulated the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) for achieving success by securing the highest number of votes in the elections held on Falgun 21, expressing best wishes with the belief that this mandate will be utilized unforgettably in the interest of the nation and the people.

PrLoPa pointed out the reality that on one hand, old and established parties are on the verge of dissolution, and on the other hand, new parties had to rush into elections without properly establishing their agendas among the public. PrLoPa, which announced its party formation only on Mangsir 7 and started organizational construction through its first extended meeting on Poush 1 and 2, participated in the elections in a short time. The party admitted that its shortcomings in organizational and election preparation were due to a lack of time, and that it participated in the election based on its commitment to the constitution, democratic practice, and the current political system, rather than its victory or defeat.

Despite the shortcomings, Chairman Pariyar claims that the recent political changes have further proven the importance and justification of the ideology, principles, and programs on which the Progressive Democratic Party was founded.

The party believes that the necessity of PrLoPa, built with historical experience, concrete understanding of the present, and objective analysis of the future, will increase in the coming days.
Keeping this objective situation in mind, the press release mentioned that the party has now entered a vigorous process of overall restructuring.
