Commission Investigating 'Jenji' Protests Set to Submit Report Today

Kathmandu. The commission formed to investigate the 'Jenji' protests is set to submit its investigation report today.

 The investigation commission led by former Justice Gauribahadur Karki is scheduled to submit the report at 11 AM on Sunday, according to Prime Minister's Press Advisor Ram Bahadur Rawal, who informed Ratopati.

The commission officials are scheduled to hand over the report to Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

The government formed the commission on Ashoj 5 to investigate the 'Jenji' protests that occurred on Bhadra 23 and 24. Former AIG Bigyanraj Sharma and lawyer Bishweshwar Bhandari are members of the commission.

The commission recorded statements from more than 150 government officials and eyewitnesses regarding the incident on Bhadra 23 in Kathmandu's Baneshwor, where youths lost their lives during the protest. At the time of the 'Jenji' movement, the government was led by KP Sharma Oli. At that time, the Home Minister was Ramesh Lekhak, the Home Secretary was Gokarnamani Duwadi, the IGP was Chandrakuber Khapung, and the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu was Chhabilal Rijal.
