Vote Counting Nears Completion in Lumbini Province, Bardiya Constituencies Remain

Butwal. Results for all but two constituencies in Bardiya district have been announced for the 26 House of Representatives constituencies in Lumbini Province as of 9 AM on Sunday. The Election Officer's Office stated that the final results for 24 constituencies in the province have been finalized, while vote counting is ongoing in Bardiya Constituency No. 1 and 2.

In Bardiya Constituency No. 1, the candidate from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Thakur Singh Tharu is leading by approximately 32,000 votes over the closest competitor, Salikram Adhikari of CPN (UML). The candidate from Nepali Congress, Sanjay Gautam, is in third place in that constituency.

Similarly, in Bardiya Constituency No. 2, the RSP candidate Shridhar Pokharel is ahead by about 10,000 votes over the candidates from Nepali Congress and CPN (UML). Since counting is still underway in both constituencies, it is reported that the final results will take more time to arrive.

Vote results for 11 out of the 12 districts in Lumbini Province have been made public. Among the 24 seats where counting has been completed so far, RSP has won 19 seats, while Nepali Congress and CPN have won 2 seats each. CPN (UML) has won 1 seat.
