Rupandehi Congress Vice-Chairman Resigns Over Election Defeat

Rupandehi. Following the Nepali Congress's defeat in all five constituencies of Rupandehi district in the recently concluded House of Representatives Election 2082, the District Vice-Chairman has resigned taking moral responsibility.

Thaneshwor Ghimire, Vice-Chairman of the Nepali Congress Rupandehi District Working Committee, submitted his resignation letter to the District Chairman on Saturday. The resignation letter submitted by Ghimire stated, 'In the recently concluded House of Representatives Member Election 2082, the party failed to achieve success in even one of the 5 constituencies in Rupandehi. Considering the situation of this election, I hereby submit my resignation from the post of Vice-Chairman of the Nepali Congress Rupandehi District Working Committee, effective from today, taking moral responsibility for the result.'

Stating that this result is very disappointing for Rupandehi Congress, he clarified that he took moral responsibility because he was in a leadership position.

Although resigning from the post of Vice-Chairman, Ghimire stated that he would not separate from active politics in the party. He assured that in the coming days, he would remain committed to the party's principles, policies, and programs and continue to work towards strengthening the organization as an active member.
