Irregularities Found in House of Representatives Vote Count in Rukum West Municipality

Rukum West. A dispute has emerged during the counting of votes for the House of Representatives in Chaurjahari Municipality-5, Rukum West. More than 100 extra ballot papers were discovered in Ward Chaurjahari-5, which belongs to candidate Gopal Sharma, compared to what was recorded in the official tally sheet (muchulka). The discovered ballot papers were not signed by the voting officer.

Candidates from other parties have stated that finding more ballot papers than the number mentioned in the tally sheet is being viewed as an attempt at rigging.

Despite the discovery of suspicious ballots, the vote counting in that area has not been halted and continues. In the ongoing count, a competition is visible between Janardan Sharma of the Proletarian Party (Pragatishil) and Gopal Sharma of the CPN (UML).
