Rastriya Swatantra Party's Bina Gurung Makes History as Sole Female House of Representatives Winner from Gandaki Province

Kaski. Bina Gurung of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has created history by becoming the only female candidate elected to the House of Representatives from Gandaki Province. Bina, who entered politics from a background of social service and business, won by a huge margin in Kaski Constituency Number 3.

According to the final vote count published by the Chief Election Officer Himlal Belbase, Bina secured 37,750 votes. She defeated her closest competitor, Manoj Gurung of the Nepali Congress, by a massive margin of nearly 25,000 votes. The defeated Manoj Gurung managed to gather only 12,780 votes.

A total of 65,407 votes were cast in Kaski Constituency Number 3. Bina, who took the lead from the beginning of the counting, maintained her dominance until the final result was announced. With this victory, the risk of zero female representation in the federal parliament through direct election from Gandaki Province has been averted.

Bina's victory, who has long been active in social work and the business sector, is being viewed in Kaski as a 'wave of change'.
