Rastriya Swatantra Party's Santosh Rajbanshi Wins Morang-4 House Seat by Wide Margin

Biratnagar. Santosh Rajbanshi of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives in Morang Constituency No. 4 with a significant margin of votes. According to the final vote count made public on Friday morning following the elections held on Thursday, Rajbanshi secured the victory by leaving his closest competitor far behind.

According to the Election Officer's office, Rajbanshi received 40,833 votes. He easily defeated leaders from established parties who were in the electoral field. Rajbanshi's victory in this constituency is seen as an indicator of the growing influence of the RSP.

His closest competitor, Nepali Congress General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire, managed to secure only 12,818 votes. The vote difference between Ghimire and Rajbanshi is nearly 28,000. Similarly, other candidates in the electoral field also failed to secure significant votes. Amanlal Modi of the Communist Party of Nepal was relegated to third place with 10,762 votes, while Jeevan Ghimire of CPN-UML received only 6,933 votes.

Out of a total of 119,255 voters in this constituency, 80,084 votes were cast. A total of 19 candidates, including those from various political parties and independents, were in the electoral competition.
