Rastriya Swatantra Party's Balendra Shah Establishes Commanding Lead in Jhapa-5 Constituency

Damak. In Jhapa Constituency No. 5, the candidate for Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and senior party leader, Balendra Shah, has significantly strengthened his lead. In the ongoing counting of votes for the House of Representatives election held on Thursday, Shah is heading towards victory, leaving competing candidates far behind.

According to the latest details published by the Election Officer's Office, out of a total of 44,350 votes counted, Balendra Shah has secured 28,152 votes. This number constitutes a large portion of the total votes counted, clearly demonstrating his electoral grip.

Meanwhile, CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is trailing significantly in this constituency. Oli has so far received only 7,393 votes, which is approximately four times less than Shah's count. Oli's current standing is being viewed with significant meaning in political circles.

Among other competitors, Samir Tamang of the Shram Sanskriti Party has positioned himself in third place, securing 4,115 votes. Furthermore, Nepali Congress candidate Mandhara Chimariya has received 824 votes, while Ranjit Tamang of the Communist Party of Nepal has garnered 736 votes. The election office has informed that Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate Laxmi Prasad Sangraula has received only 662 votes.
