Nepali Congress Candidate Yogesh Gauchan Wins Mustang House of Representatives Seat

Pokhara. The Nepali Congress has opened its account in the House of Representatives election from Mustang. Congress candidate Yogesh Gauchan secured the victory by defeating CPN-UML's Indra Dhara Bista.

He was also victorious in the previous House of Representatives election. Gauchan, who is also the son of Nepali Congress Mustang Chairman Romi Gauchan Thakali, won by a margin of 1,501 votes.

Gauchan secured 3,307 votes, while his closest competitor Bista received 1,806 votes. Adwitiya Chandra Thakali of the Rastriya Swatantra Party garnered 759 votes, with other parties receiving significantly fewer.

Sherchan also won from Mustang in the 2079 election. In 2079, Yogesh secured 3,996 votes, while the closest competitor, Prem Prasad Tulachan of CPN-UML, received 3,078 votes.

Yogesh is a resident of Lete in Thasang Rural Municipality. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management. He is also a tourism entrepreneur and hotelier.
