Infrastructure Expert Surya Raj Acharya Interprets Recent Election Results as a Consequence of Broken Public Trust

Infrastructure expert Surya Raj Acharya has interpreted the results of the recently concluded elections as a product of shattered public trust. Sharing his views on social media, he stated that the old political parties and leaders failed to understand the people's disillusionment, and ultimately, the voters taught them a lesson through the ballot box.

He argues that even though intellectuals and analysts used the same old stubbornness and convoluted language during the elections, the general public clearly expressed their sentiments. According to Acharya, the aspirations and feelings of the people are always paramount in a democracy. He emphasized that the practice of disregarding public sentiment due to the power and arrogance of the ruling class must stop.

He mentioned that since the public support received in the election hides the dreams and hopes of the people, it is mandatory for the new leadership to deliver results, meaning they must show action. Stating that the current state system is ineffective, he pointed out the need for structural change and honesty in the future politics.

Acharya's analysis suggests that the future path of politics will be challenging. Managing geopolitical maneuvering alongside developing capacity and competence will be the main responsibility of the new leadership. Asserting that nothing is impossible with strong political will, he urged the winners to be humble and responsible, and the losers to maintain a spirit of cooperation.

His message is that a spirit of national unity must awaken in everyone, and no one should take the people's mandate lightly.
